This is post-natal qi that is acquired traditionally from the air you breathe and the food and liquid you consume.  GU QI comes from food.  DA QI comes from air.  The two come together and create ZEHN QI.  This happens in the kidneys during points of rest.  The quality of rest determines how well the kidneys synthesize Qi.  Hopefully a person has enough Zehn Qi, that they don’t have to waste Yuan Qi (the prenatal qi).  The ratio is ideally 99% to 1%, using mostly Zehn Qi; this creates health and longevity.  The person who is aligned with the Tao, has much Zehn qi, so they don’t have to spend Yuan Qi.
